POPE

          Pope or Lodan (special toothed quite small) is a group of mammals living in the ocean. The term "whale"is given to the member nations large cetaceans. Although the pope in the Indonesian language is often called "whale", the pope is not really into the family fishing. The pope has the following characteristics:

      * Breathe through lungs
      * Do it (a bit, mostly in the adult whale)
      * Warm-blooded
      * Have mammary glands
      * Has a heart with four chambers

Whales evolved in the mid-tempo early Eocene, about 50 million years ago. One of the earliest whales are extinct Basilosaurus bermoncong with a small head and protruding teeth. Basilosaurus long, 25 meters.

 

             Fossils indicate that the whale came from hoofed land animals, the possibility of such Mesonychidae animals (animals like wolves that live on the coast), which gradually returned menghunii ocean about 50 million years ago. Another possibility that other animals in a whale, is Ambulocetus, seal-sized mammals, but has a three meters long with a weight of 325 pounds.

Currently there are two groups of whales, toothed whales (Odontoceti) and not toothed whales (Mysticeti). The Pope is not toothed larger than toothed whales and have a brush-like structure known as baleen. This structure is useful to filter out plankton, makanannnya in the water.
